Vine: Augsburg goalkeeper scores a 95th minute half-volleyed equaliser (no, really)

Stop what you are doing

Conan Doherty

A ‘keeper has scored, bank holiday on Monday.

Usually the sight of a man in gloves rattling the net is enough to work us into a tizzy but when they come as good and as crucial as Marwin Hitz’s, we go into overdrive.

The Augsburg goalkeeper rescued a priceless point for his side in the dying embers of added time against Leverkusen and what an important strike it was, too.

The goal meant the sides levelled 2-2 and kept Augsburg clear of their travelling opposition by two points and one off a Champions League place as they continue to hunt down European qualification from the Bundesliga.

Oh, and on top of that, he hit it on the turn on a half volley…

Okay, he was pretty close in but a goalkeeper has scored. What do you want from us?
