Fair to say that United and Liverpool are global brands.
Well, we couldn’t imagine a crowd of around 30,000 showing up at the BPL Live fan park in Mumbai for Villa against West Brom.
But they streamed there today alright, laden in red, waving flags, banners and jerseys of Manchester United and Liverpool. Â It meant as much to the Indians as it did in Old Trafford, in England or Ireland. Â And they probably made more noise as the crowds streamed in from early in the day and stayed on until nightfall glued to the big screen.
From the moment the Liverpool fans arrived in fine voice, you knew there was going to be a good atmosphere there.
The United fans never bowed quietly though and they came roaring back with an unmistakable verse of ‘glory, glory Man United.’
When the action started, eyes were fixed on one part of the fan park.
As the game panned out though, there was only one group making noise but, by God, with the 3-0 result, the United fans were making enough racket for both of them.
