We were only discussing why goalkeepers sometimes lead with the arm furtherst away from the ball to make saves during the week in the office.
If the ball is heading to the top corner of the net, you sometimes see netminders arching their body and using the hand on the opposite side to where the ball is travelling to make a save.
It seems almost counter intuitive, until you see a brilliant save like this from Sassuolo’s Andrea Consigli in the Serie A clash against Inter Milan this afternoon.
Luca Palazzi thought he had scored with a curling effort just before half time, until the long right arm of Consigli tipped it around the post.
Absolutely extraordinary save from Sassuolo's Andrea Consigli vs Inter at end of 1st half. Incredible reach: https://t.co/Ba5XBnFa91
