Video: We’re going to start a campaign to make this Yaya Sanogo’s official chant

Sanogo, Sanogo, When you scored you looked surprised

Ben Kiely

This song’s a bit of a slow burner but it’s worth the pay-off

We’re going to give you fair warning here. There’s a couple of things you’re going to have to get over in order to enjoy this video. Firstly, the fact that the first half isn’t all that great, however if you stick with it you shall be rewarded.

The second thing that may put people off is that it’s a parody of that song from Disney’s Frozen. It’s name doesn’t need to be said. You know the one we’re talking about. Anyone with daughters or nieces of a certain age will know it all too painfully well.

There is something about this song that works though, and if reconstructed we think it could become a legitimate chant for Palace fans. Stranger things have happened. Remember Alex Dimitri Billong to  the tune of ‘Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong’? Or Sunday, Monday, Habib Beye? Sometimes it’s the chants that are a little bit out there that really take off.

Sanogo, Sanogo. Stay with us and don’t look back. Sanogo, Sanogo. Look at Marouane Chamakh. He was crap, now he’s much less crap, but his hair’s still… crap.

We particularly enjoyed the remarkably accurate description of his first goal in a Palace shirt.

A pass from Zaha and a shot was then applied. Ok, it was deflected and was probably going wide.

Sanogo, Sanogo, you had been oh so chastised. Sanogo, Sanogo, when you scored you looked surprised.
