He’s being serious, too.
Jose Mourinho is a funny man.
He’s funnier when he’s not trying to be funny. And, usually, he’s not.
The Chelsea boss, in his latest bid for the title of Mr Hypocrisy (what, it’s a thing), has sunk to new lows in accusing his English rivals of trying to buy the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho. The same man who has signed 44 players for Chelsea Football Club.
But, after the Blues boss needed just £62m last summer to complete his 11 with Fabregas and Costa (he still spent another £56.3m just for the craic), he has sat back and watched in this off-season. Yes, they’ve brought in a sub ‘keeper for £8m and a Brazilian for under £5m but, apart from that, there’s no-one left to buy.
All that’s left is to try and make United, Liverpool and City guilty for trying to catch up.
“They are buying the title. All of them, they are buying the title,” he said without a hint of sarcasm.
