They’ve been on Earth for a combined 70 years but the talents of Andrea Pirlo and David Villa continue to live on… in MLS, to be fair.
Two of the most recognisable players currently plying their trade in the U.S.A. may not have much pace between them nowadays (Pirlo never did) but they more than make up for it with their chemistry on the pitch.
David Villa had just equalised for New York City FC minutes earlier when the referee awarded a corner at Yankee Stadium.
And the La Liga legend got his second of the game against the Vancouver Whitecaps when he benefited from the pin-point delivery of corner-taker and beard-wearer extraordinaire Andrea Pirlo.
Pirlo spotted the back post run of Villa and deftly guided it onto the Spaniard’s right foot to beautifully hammer home.
Form is temporary! Class is permanent! And Andrea Pirlo is the coolest man in North America.
