Fantastic effort.
The Ireland football team face probably the biggest week we’ve had in a number of years as we face Germany and Poland for a spot at the Euro 2016 championships or at least to try and force a play-off.
There was some disappointment on Sunday after the squad was announced that Ciaran Clark is unfit while the news on Seamus Coleman is starting to look about as grim as that big hurricane out in the Atlantic.
But there may be some good news emerging from America on at least two of our players and their confidence levels as Kevin Doyle and Robbie Keane both scored goals for their respective sides last night in the MLS.
The Wexford man notched a wonderful header for Colorado Rapids, sent in by Sean St Ledger, to give his side the lead in their ultimate 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake that knocks them out of contention for a play-off spot.
What a header from Kevin Doyle. #COLvRSL http://t.co/IK4vgBhkVu

And later in the night Robbie Keane showed he’s razor sharp if the German defence come-a-cropper at any stage on Thursday night with a great finish from a mistake in LA Galaxy’s 1-1 draw with Seattle.
