WATCH: Time-lapse footage of Barcelona’s New Camp Nou is truly stunning

Kevin McGillicuddy

This looks unbelievable.

The Camp Nou is one of the best stadiums in the world.

The home of FC Barcelona is simply a joy to watch a game from, whether you are in one of the upper tier nosebleed seats, or a little bit closer to the action.

The club is always seeking ways to improve, and to compliment the razor sharp accuracy of their front-three attackers, the club has unveiled an ambitious expansion for its stadium.

The New Camp Nou was unveiled this afternoon, and when it is finished, it will be a thing of glorious beauty.

The stadium will include two new tiers for fans to test their vertigo with; while by far the most striking aspect of the whole project will be the new overhanging roof that will cover supporters from the elements.

The stadium’s capacity will be increased to a stunning 105,000 people when it is fully sold out, with construction carried out during the football season, and expected to be completed by the 2020/21 season.

Don’t take our word for it;  just watch this sumptuous time-lapse video of the build taking place.

It’s hypnotic.

You can see what the finished stadium will look like in this piece of art too.
