Hands down, Glenn Verbauwhede is the world’s most insane goalkeeper.
A clip of the Maritzburg United goalkeeper’s performance against Golden Arrows in the South African league has been quickly going viral, and it’s easy to see why.
Verbahewe…bauwhad… Glenn has seemingly invented a new form of histrionics for number-ones that has to be seen to be believed. The shotstopper lets the ball come to a halt at his feet and goads opposition players to try to take it off him. When they run in to try to win the ball back, he launches himself kamikaze-style into their legs in an effort to win a free kick.
After throwing himself head-first into the attacking player, he rolls around on the ground as if he’s been shot, before sprinting over to the referee to complain about the “foul”.
