What was he thinking?
Liverpool went 0-1 down against Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night and the finger of blame can be squarely pointed at Simon Mignolet for the game’s opener.
The keeper gave away an indirect free kick, 16 yards out and straight in front of goal for disobeying the six-second rule.
Mignolet held onto the ball for over 20 seconds before the referee finally blew up and awarded Bordeaux the free.

Henri Saivet stepped up and duly converted the indirect free.

The Twitterati were not too pleased with Mignolet for his outrageous error.
I still don't know why Mignolet held the ball for so long. Someone needs to teach him to count to 6. #FFS #LFC

Shall we just boil Mignolet down and sell him on as glue ?

Mignolet can't have any complaints here. Kept the ball closer to 6 minutes than 6 seconds.

Mignolet doesn't often catch the ball so I guess he was making the most of it

Mignolet always reminds us every few games why we desperately need a new GK. That was mental. Just kick it to Benteke if u need to!!
