VIDEO: Sevilla defender bursting for the toilet decides to go on the subs bench

When ya gotta go

A wee problem

There isn’t many worse feeling than being caught short,so to speak. That terrible pressure on your inner plumbing means that you can’t think of anything else apart from where you’re going to come across your nearest loo. That would be the normal thought for most people-to use a loo to do your business in. But if you’re a professional footballer you don’t play by those rules.

We’ve always wondered why TV directors set up cameras to point directly at the subs bench during various football games. Surely the more interesting action happens on the pitch.  But now we have our answer after Sevilla’s Fernando Navarro decided to go to the toilet in the middle of game while using a coat to protect his modesty.

Now we’re not sure how far away the toilets were from the subs bench but surely they can’t have been that far that the unused sub had to grab a bottle and his teammates coat in order to go about his business. Fair play to Carlos Bacca though for doing the necessary and he even helpfully holds up the coat when Navarro is otherwise indisposed during the 3-0 win over Elche on Sunday.

Although we have to say our stomach is slightly turned by the obvious fact that he didn’t even wash his hands.
