If we were bigger Taylor Swift fans we’d love to jam pack this article with references to one of her songs pretty much every second sentence. But fortunately we have more ‘Style’ than that, and you’ll ‘Never Ever Ever’ have to put up with us trying awful puns on Ms Swifts well ‘Re(a)d’ back catalog. (Apologies – we won’t do that again. Promise)
Someone who probably has a much deeper knowledge of her songs however is Republic of Ireland international Sean St Ledger, who’s had to deny that the two are an item after a picture emerged at Christmas of them getting very, very cosy.
The defender is currently plying his trade in the MLS alongside Kaka for Orlando City, and will be joined in the States by Wexford’s Kevin Doyle next season as moves to Colorado Rapids, while of course Robbie Keane is still turning out for LA Galaxy.
St Ledger hasn’t been included in recent Irish squads but did make an appearance on RTE’s Soccer Republic this week, where the intrepid Tony O’Donoghue did his best ‘Xpose’ impression and asked St Ledger the tough question that everyone wants answered.
Is he doing a line with Ms Swift or wha’?
St Ledger remained coy on the matter but did admit that he’s hopeful she might see him when he plays in New York later in the season
Hopefully there’s no ‘Bad Blood’ between them. We’ll get our coat.
