Oh, hello there 2003. We’ve missed you!

Superstar charity matches are never the most competitive, but they are generally a great chance to see some amazing peacockery from current and retired football greats.

Last night Saint-Etienne hosted its annual Match against poverty, as their Saint-Etienne All-Stars hosted a World Stars XI featuring plenty of France’s World Cup winners from 1998, as well as a few other international legends.

The original Ronaldo (for those of you under the age of 16) bagged himself a hat-trick on the night, with the now overweight legend showing athleticism is irrelevant when your finishing is as good as his.

His third goal was the best of the night, as he combined with his former Real Madrid teammate Zinedine Zidane to volley into the corner, exchanging five passes between each other along the way.

His first and second goals weren’t bad either.

He’s still got it.

In the end though, the Saint-Etinne All-Stars won 9-7, with Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang nabbing a hat-trick.
