VIDEO: Robbie Keane upstaged Steven Gerrard’s first goal for LA Galaxy last night

You stole my thunder buddy

Welcome to LA

If Steven Gerrard thought he was going to head to L.A and be the biggest thing since the 50% sale in Michael Guineys, then he was spectacularly upstaged on his professional debut for the club last night.

The former Liverpool captain started his first real game in the MLS last night against the San Jose Earthquakes and managed to grab a goal in the 5-2 win.

So you’d think that all of today’s headlines would be about that.

Well not if Robbie Keane has anything to say about it.

The Irishman decided that he couldn’t have Stevie G taking all the limelight and casually bagged a hat-trick in the same game.

San Jose took a 2-0 lead before Keane pulled one back from the penalty spot.

Gerrard then grabbed the equaliser while Keane got his side in front thanks to a flick on from a Gerrard free-kick and the secured the match ball with his his second spot-kick of the night.

Just in case Gerrard thought he might be the big do  or something
