He’s back, baby.
Not that he had ever gone away, but Robbie Keane made a goal-scoring return as LA Galaxy kicked off their MLS season with a 4-1 win over DC United.
The Republic of Ireland captain scored his side’s third goal from the penalty spot, drilling the ball into the bottom right corner from 12 yards.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole made his league debut for the Los Angeles side, while Steven Gerrard claimed an assist from midfield.
Keane has struggled to earn a starting place under Martin O’Neill but will be hoping to add a few more goals before the friendlies with Switzerland and Slovakia either side of Easter weekend.
Having made his debut for Wolves as a 17 year old in 1997, Keane has maintained a remarkable scoring record – with last night’s goal marking his 20th straight season of finding net.
Keep on a-rockin’ Robbie.
