Could this be the exact moment that turned Diego Costa into a perpetual stamper?
The Chelsea forward is currently public enemy number one in Liverpool following his pair of stamps during the Capital One Cup semi-final last night. However, it appears as though he picked up his nasty finishing move very early in his career.
Back in April 2007, when the Spaniard was just an 18-year-old boy, he produced a extremely cynical challenge. The incident occurred when Costa was playing for Braga against rivals Benfica in the Portuguese League. The striker went in on Portuguese international, Petit with a potential leg-breaker was far more gruesome than his two stamps against Liverpool.
The amazing thing about the incident was the fact that Costa wasn’t sent off, fined or given any sort of ban for the horror tackle. The punishment he received was just a lousy yellow card.
