Everybody has it in for poor old Arsene Wenger.
The Arsenal manager has seen his side slip off the pace in the Premier League title race, and they face north London rivals Tottenham today with their league ambitions on life support.
Spurs have a chance to turn the machine off if they win at White Hart Lane and flatline the Gunners chance of a title again.
Voice of outrage Paul Merson was on Soccer Saturday today talking about who teams, and sportspeople who are serial winners, in contrast to the men now at Arsenal.
He was trying to explain how the best winners make their opponent get down on the floor and beg for mercy no matter what.
Think Barcelona, think Kilkenny, do not think Arsenal.
It was an odd way to describe things, but it was the pen throwing moment at the end of his rant that had our minds wandering back to a seemingly infamous moment in Irish sporting history.

If you are of a certain vintage, you may remember that Eamon Dunphy had to apologise for throwing his pen after Ireland’s 0-0 draw with Egypt at Italia 90, and the rant that preceded it.
