Carlton Cole is adapting to life north of the border after he today signed for Celtic.
After training in Glasgow for a few weeks since his release by West Ham, the former England, Chelsea and Aston Villa striker has agreed a contract with the Scottish champions until 2017 .
Not eligible to play in the Europa League until the new year, Cole must sit out tonight’s clash with Molde but could make his debut for the Parkhead club in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership meeting with Dundee United.
That will at least give him a chance to acclimatise. Not accustomed to going “this far north of Watford Gap” the 32-year-old gave Sky Sports News an insight into his new diet, which seems to consist of black pudding and haggis.
If the mischievous Carlton was telling the truth, it would explain why the action in Scotland can tend to be a little stodgy.

Also, a penny for Anthony Stokes thoughts after this deal? The 27-year-old Irish international had only made two appearances for the Bhoys this season before the arrival of Cole.
Difficult to stomach.
