VIDEO: Liverpool youngster shows serious tekkers with silky backheel assist

Take a bow

You’ll win nothing with silky skilful kids from Spain.

But who cares about winning stuff when you have a youngster who has the bottle and the nerve to try a wonderful backheel to flummox a goalkeeper in the build up to his sides’ first goal in the capital Cup last 16 tonight.

Joao Carlos Teixeira started his first game for Liverpool tonight in 20 months, and as one of a number of younger faces has already shown a glimpse of a bright future with a delicious piece of skill in the build-up to Nathaniel Clyne’s opener.

The Spaniard got onto a smart ball from Roberto Firmino and his flick almost went into the net before the England man slammed home the desperate clearance.
