VIDEO: Liverpool sign 31-goal American wonderkid who could play for the Republic of Ireland

The future?

Conan Doherty

He scores goals, he’s young, and he can play for Ireland.

We’re listening.

Liverpool fans must be, too.

The Anfield club have recruited their newest talent in Brooks Lennon who joins the club from Real Salt Lake and he seems a bit of a prospect alright.

The USA U18 international rattled in 31 goals for the MLS club’s academy last year and he joins Liverpool having featured for the club already back in January of 2014.

The Liverpool Echo today confirmed the signing of the 17-year-old – which automatically makes him a wonderkid – who comes with a bit more interest for those on the emerald isle. Those desperate enough that is.

Well, ignore that statement of patriotism and bear with us.

It turns out that good old Brooks Lennon – who looks scarily like Cristiano Ronaldo – has been expecting receipt of his Irish citizenship this week, as it would make him eligible to play in the Premier League.

He’s got relatives in Irela… – you had us at relatives.

Get cracking, lads. We’ve always thought Lennon was better than Grealish. Let’s get this kid in before he realises how good he is.

Here he is in action for Liverpool last year.
