Kevin Doyle got off the mark for the Colorado Rapids in style on Saturday.
The Irish striker scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory at home to the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Doyle made an almighty leap to nod the ball past the goalkeeper in 55th minute. Doyle’s headed effort from the penalty spot sailed into the back of the net, going in off the post.
Colorado will be hoping this is the match that turns their abysmal season around as they are currently languishing at the bottom of the Western Conference having won just three out of their last 18 games.
