Jurgen Klopp is a lovable big fella but you can’t help but feel he is patronised sometimes.
No real reason for it, just for the fact that he smiles and laughs, hugs his players, and maybe because he has come in from another country.
It seems to get lost that he is one of the best managers in world football trying to lift a struggling club off its knees.
His team gets dumped out of the FA Cup with a last-minute injury time goal and Ray Stubbs still thinks he’s going to have a good, old laugh with the German.
And bizarrely about his health, at that.
But Klopp gave the BT Sports reporter the brush-off on Tuesday night when his hospital admission and surgery were made light of. After a football match. That he lost.

It’s not the first time that Klopp has had to give short shrift to reporters. He wasn’t dragged in to questions about Daniel Sturridge quit rumours last week and he brilliantly put the media in its place as they dug for a soundbite off him.
Sturridge was the subject of another Klopp put-down on Tuesday night and Ray Stubbs was the victim yet again. Once more, he seemingly lost sight of the fact that they had just exited the FA Cup and he asked Klopp about a cup final the manager wasn’t even aware of there and then.

Unfortunately, these sharp responses are becoming too necessary.
Before the Chelsea match, Louis van Gaal was freezing the press room because he listened to the words of the question, not the charm surrounding it.
His comebacks were classically hilarious.
