Should we have expected anything different from the Special One?
It was revealed yesterday from a study undertaken by Kick It Out that Chelsea receive the most abusive messages online out of all the Premier League clubs.
Jose Mourinho was quizzed about the matter in a press conference yesterday and he almost had everyone suckered into thinking that for one brief moment, he could be humble.
His theory on why Chelsea get all the online hate was that the club were “boring”, but the wry smile that washed over his face made us think that he had some pre-rehearsed, snappy comeback to the question.
Lo and behold, he ended his theory in typical Mourinho style.
“I think because we are boring.”
(Pregnant pause)
“…top of the league since day one is something in this country people doesn’t (sic) like.”
You almost had us fooled, Jose… almost.
