Jose Mourinho has claimed his Chelsea assistant Rui Faria is the man he would like succeed him at the club
The Blues boss believes that Faria is ‘more than ready’ for a management position ‘at the highest level’, and rates him as the best qualified of all his former aides, a list that includes Steve Clarke, Middlebrough boss Aitor Karanka and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, to lead a top club.
Speaking to BT Sport, Mourinho said: “If one day I have to speak about disciples, the real one is the one that is with me since 2000.
“The one that has more potential than any other one, the one that if he wants to become a manager tomorrow he is more than ready to do it at the highest level […] is my assistant, Rui Faria.”
