Jeff Stelling is right up there with the parts of a weekend we most look forward to.
And the Gillette Soccer Saturday host didn’t disappoint today as he regaled the studio guests with a tale involving BBC’s Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer giving a pep talk to Blyth Spartans prior to their game with Stelling’s beloved Hartlepool last night.
Stelling found it abhorrent that a BBC representative would be giving preferential treatment to a team when Hartlepool fans were also licence payers.
Cue the cacophony of cackles from Paul Merson and Co. as Stelling delves deeper into his loyalty to Sky before he kisses an imaginary badge.
