And Manchester United fans looking at the English man striking his 11th goal in 11 games on Saturday might have thought to themselves that there was something oddly familiar about the player with the tight haircut slotting one past a goalkeeper representing a side from the city.
And they would have been dead right as it turns out that Vardy’s goal meant he was one of a select group of players who had scored against both FC Manchester and their upper league rival Manchester United.
