It was another brilliant analysis of a game that for many fans passed all too quickly.
Liverpool fans are still wiping their eyes trying to actually believe a team that earlier this month lost to Crystal Palace at home, again, beat Manchester City at the Ethiad 4-1 on Saturday night.
The win came just weeks after Liverpool put Chelsea to the sword at Stamford Bridge and on Monday Night Football Jamie Carragher described Liverpool’s attacking trio of Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino as like ‘The Red Arrows’ in their movement and intricate passing during the game.
He identified Liverpool as playing very narrow and forcing Manchester City’s defence in various mistakes.
Carragher was full of praise for Jurgen Klopp’s side, while Gary Neville also exposed some key weaknesses in the high pressing game the German likes to employ, and feels that it could be exploited by other teams who study Klopp’s style
It’s a wonderful forensic examination of a shock result and as usual it’s broken down into the most simplistic way by the two analysts.
