What’s better than an exclusive audience with Patrick Kluivert?
An exclusive audience with Patrick Kluivert in London, followed by a trip to the Emirates to watch Arsenal and Barcelona, that’s what.
On Tuesday morning a select group of Irish football fans turned up at a secret location in Dublin, expecting to meet the Dutch legend and see him interviewed by the lads from Second Captains.
However after a delay and some whispered phone calls it became clear that the former Ajax and Barcelona striker wouldn’t be making it to Dublin.
The crestfallen fans did not seem to take much consolation from a live video link-up with Kluivert, until he appeared on screen and informed them that he never intended coming to Dublin.
The whole thing was a ruse and instead of welcoming Kluivert to Dublin, he was going to welcome them to London, where they were all going to attend the blockbuster UEFA Champions League last-16 clash between Arsenal and Barcelona at the Emirates.
The look of amazement on the competition winners faces was priceless as they were all bundled on to a bus and whizzed to Dublin airport for their flight to London and a date with Kluivert and the European champions in North London.
