Mathew Leckie had an eventful day yesterday.
The Australian was front and centre of Ingolstadt’s 3-0 Bundesliga 2 victory over Bochum but, you know what they say, we only care about the misses.
It’s like that shot you take at lunch time in school, people only talk about it if it rattles the crossbar – we don’t have any time for this top corner nonsense.
Well, Leckie didn’t just hit the crossbar. He hit it twice with the one shot before a team mate followed up on the rebound and… hit the crossbar.
It was a comical series of events and Leckie himself will probably point to his back-heeled assist and goal later in the tie but… sorry, Mathew, this was better.
