And his replacement blew it.
Gonzalo Higuain had the chance to be the hero tonight and win Argentina’s first Copa America in 22 years. Instead, he went for the wrong side of the net after Messi and Lavezzi combined to set up what should have been the winner. As Sam Allardyce so profoundly put it, “you’re going to have to score to win.”
In Gonzalo’s defence, that Chile crowd is damn scary if their national anthem is anything to go by. We wouldn’t want to upset them either.
