Absolutely class
Incorporating one piece of skill in any goal is noteworthy enough but Dutch side Heerenveen decided to take the absolute p*** when they began a move for a goal with a nutmeg, crossed the ball into the box with a rabona and then finished off with a lovely volley to the net.
It all happened in their Eredivisie clash against Utrecht with striker Mark Uth almost at the corner flag but using a lovely nutmeg to get out of trouble and move the ball into the path of winger Joey van den Berg.
Unfortunately, he’s primarily left footed but ended up on the right wing, so instead of doing a Nicky Barmby and turning back onto his stronger foot, he decided to improvise and cross with a fantastic rabona. Sam Larsson was lurking in the middle and he finished with a powerful volley into the corner.
Here’s a slow motion version of the goal so you can admire the technique in all its glory
We think we should try and recreate the goal in the style of our efforts for the Puskas awards
