Although we’re absolutely not condoning this kind of behaviour the next time you’re having a kick about, we imagine there’s probably a few opponents that have thought about doing this kind of thing to Lionel Messi over the years.
As Messi’s Barca side faced city rivals Espanyol in a Copa del Rey tie, the Argentine ended up on the floor in the opponent’s box.
With the ball temporarily cleared, the Espanyol goalkeeper blatantly stamped on Messi’s right leg.
Fortunately for the goalkeeper, the stamp was unseen by officials. Unfortunately for the goalkeeper, it wasn’t enough for Messi to leave the field.
