All in the name of art
Eric Cantona has been many things to many people but he not prepared to add ‘porn star’ to that list.

In his latest flick, You and the Night on Tuesday, King Eric plays a character called The Stud and he even goes all Dirk Diggler by wearing a prosthetic penis in an orgy scene.
But it’s very definitely art, you see. Not soft porn or salacious sex, but art. French art.
Critics don’t quite agree with one writing that the film is “soft porn meets arthouse cinema”.
Cantona was questioned about this last night and his response was emphatic.
“Porn? No, it’s not porn. It’s a piece of art. It’s just a piece of art. But you can see it like this. It’s beautiful. You should see it. Unfortunately, porn is not so aesthetic and so beautiful. But love is sex also, you know?
“This kind of story for the ones who have seen it – I’m sure nobody has seen it – it’s too beautiful.
“This kind of story, when you choose to do it, you have to know the director. If it’s somebody special, if it’s a real artist, you can do it. You can give, and be confident enough.”
So there you have it: make art, not porn.
