Arsene Wenger watched his side stave off the MLS All-Stars in a friendly on Thursday night but it required an 87th minute winner from Chuba Akpom to clinch the game 2-1.
The name Chuba Akpom isn’t going to wash with the manic supporters though. The north London club can’t do anything without being hounded during the transfer window and the pressure to sign someone – anyone – is only growing.
The side’s tour of the US continued this week and the manager named a fresh-looking outfit to compete at the Avaya Stadium.

Just keep an eye on it. Anything Arsenal write, their fans respond with a simple demand. Sign a f**king striker. They get a lot more impatient and x-rated than those examples too.
But here comes Chuba Akpom. The 20-year-old who may cloud Wenger’s judgement at least until September.
In fairness, if Arsenal keep slicing through opposition like this, they might not even need a striker to finish these moves off.
