Reminds us of Croke Park after the All-Ireland final
Fans are an excitable bunch at the best of times but when they’ve just seen their misfiring relegation threatened side just book their place in the semi finals of the FA Cup then they will want to celebrate.
So that’s just a little of the context to tonight’s mental scenes at Villa Park as fans spilled onto the pitch minutes after a Scott Sinclair strike made it 2-0 to the home side in their clash with West Brom.
His goal came in the 85th minute after Fabien Delph had opened the scoring just after half time.
Fans who havn’t seen too many goals this season were understandly excited, and some of them managed to make their way onto the pitch in the 92nd minute which caused a delay as stewards tried to regain control
The game restarted until total chaos broke out at full time with thousands of fans storming onto the pitch in something that Irish sports fans would recognise as being a part All-Ireland final days for many years.

The incursions are likely to cause Villa serious problems with the FA but it didnt seem to bother Fabien Delph who had a whale of a time with supporters on the pitch afterwards:
“@doc3d: Delph bouncing with the fans on the pitch. Proper love this guy #avfc pic.twitter.com/phjPClYvhK” Delph.
