We can see his point.
Liverpool secured their second 1-0 win of the season tonight as they beat Bournemouth at Anfield thanks to a Christian Benteke goal.
But his opening strike for the Reds’ was slotted home controversially as Phillippe Countinho appeared to be offside when the ball was whipped back into the box by Jordan Henderson.

Coutinho made a slight movement towards the ball. Bournemouth may feel aggrieved. Watch on SS1 http://t.co/aFaPNAMdnm pic.twitter.com/TVkTTf1Tb0

The little magician didn’t get a touch on the ball, but it appeared that he at least put off the Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc and that allowed the Belgian to steer the ball in at the back post.
It seems that Liverpool benefited hugely from  the referee not applying the so called ‘new’ offside rule which in it’s simplest form is
“A player in an offside position shall be penalised if he: Makes an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball.”
Coutinho raised his foot at the in-swinging ball but didn’t make contact and the goal stood.
Gary Neville was aghast on Monday Night Football afterwards.
They c*** about with the offside rule every year and they don’t make it any better.”
And here’s the proof that he did mildly swear on national telly earlier

It’s not the worst thing he could have said but Twitter did love the fact that Gary lost his cool a bit.
'Cock About … With Gary Neville' is an MNF spin off quiz show asking to be made. It could be the new Noel's House Party.

Gary Neville using the term *cock about* before the watershed caused much discussion, laughter & rewinding in our house

"They cock about with the offside rule every year and they don't make it any better." Gary Neville tells it straight.
