There’s officially no point in trying to be nice.
The footballing Gods proved that no good deed goes unpunished during Wednesday night’s German Cup clash between Bayer Leverkusen and fourth-tier side FC Viktoria Koln.
After falling 4-0 down, naive Koln defender Lukas Nottbeck noticed that the referee had dropped his red card after sending off Nottbecks’s teammate Markus Brzenska and rushed to return it.
But the ruthless Bundesliga outfit continued playing and, with Nottbeck miles out of position, Stefan Kiessling crept in behind and scored Leverkusen’s fifth goal of the game.
So that decides it, we’re never being nice again. Arseholes from here on out!
