Fabin Orellana red carded for his stupidity

Is this the most bizarre way to be red-carded ever

Frustration can get the better of us all at times. God knows we’ve struggled with our Kinder eggs sometimes so much that we devour all the chocolate and couldn’t be bothered trying to assemble that ruddy toy inside. But we don’t think we’d ever get so angry at a team running rings around us that we’d fling some turf at them. Well not sods of turf cut straight from your nearest peat bog but turf from a football pitch with a heap of grass on it.

Barcelona faced Celta Vigo tonight in La Liga looking to edge their way closer to another league title after watching Real Madrid record a 9-1 win earlier. They endured a pretty frustrating night as the home side kept them at bay despite severe pressure until 17 minutes from time, with Jeremy Mathieu’s header finally breaking the deadlock.

Celta Vigo pushed for an equaliser but the game ended in a bizarre circumstances as Fabian Orellana decided Sergio Busquets was taking too long to take a free-kick and decided to throw a lump of grass at him.

The Spanish midfielder’s reaction was more like he had been shot but even still it hardly excuses the most stupid thing we’ve seen to earn a red-card in a very very long time
