Now that he’s one bad winter away from a mobility scooter, John Terry has to work extra hard to keep those young whippersnappers from taking his first team place.
The Chelsea captain played every single game in Chelsea’s title-winning season. However, at 48 years of age (very roughly), he has decided to go the extra step to maximise his time in the first team.
Terry is clearly aware that the likes of Kurt Zouma are pushing for a spot in the Blues’ starting XI next season. So, instead of spending the holidays sunning himself in exotic locations like Miami or Trabolgan, he is back at the training ground trying to stay a step ahead of the chasing pack of youngsters.
