Video: Big Sam reckons ‘tippy tappy’ football is a ‘load of bollocks’

The West Ham boss likes it direct

When your team is doing as well as Big Sam’s is right now, you can really say what you like

While Southampton are rightly getting plaudits for their quality this season, West Ham and their manager Sam Allardyce also deserve to be praised. Sitting in seventh, on 36 points, the Hammers are well set for a spot in Europe next season and even a Champions League spot can’t be ruled out if they keep playing so well.

West Ham didn’t start very well against Hull yesterday but they eventually got going and thumped Steve Bruce’s side 3-0 in the end and in the post-match presser, Allardyce let everyone know what he thought the problem was; too much ‘tippy tappy’ football, which he reckons can be a ‘load of bollocks’ some times.

Sam then outlines his football philosophy, which involves ‘getting the ball in the opposition’s box as quickly as you can’.
