We’re fed up seeing Aston Villa fans sitting on the fence.
We never know what they really think about players, managers, owners.
So it was nice of them to spell it out for once in cruel, clear, full-blooded fashion on Tuesday night in the London underground.
Another game, another defeat – this time at the hands of West Ham – and Remi Garde’s men are all but gone from the Premier League for the first time ever.
And the fans are over caring about what poor Randy Lerner might be thinking from his sanctuary across the Atlantic. The Villa owner has let the club slip from banging on the Champions League door under Martin O’Neill to a team that looks like it will struggle in the Championship.
It has been coming for years and nothing was done about it. Every season was just another exercise in cost-cutting and, finally, they are about to pay the price that Lerner’s stewardship deserves.
But the supporters are going to have a party. Not now. At another specified date in the future.
