Even as a 16-year-old, Jordan Henderson was pretty nifty with the ball at his feet.
Footage has been uncovered of the Liverpool vice-captain showcasing his talents as a scrawny teenager on the mean streets of Sunderland.
It is quite a sight to see the young man pulling off the tricks knowing how far he has come. He went on to make 79 appearances for his hometown club Sunderland before his big-money move to Liverpool in 2011.
He’s established himself as a first team regular in the England set up. And, this weekend, Just nine years after this video was shot, he’s set to captain Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
He’s almost as good as a young Scott Parker.
