Usain Bolt could finally get to play in a Manchester United jersey at Old Trafford soon

Talks have been held

Usain Bolt’s sprinting career ended in disappointment on Saturday night.

A week on from finishing third in the 100m final at the World Athletics Championships in London, the Jamaican pulled up with an injury on the final leg of the 4x100m relay and was unable to complete the race.

Asked if he’d reconsider his decision to retire, Bolt insisted there would be no comeback.

“I’ve seen too many people retire and come back just to make it worse or to shame themselves. I won’t be one of those people,” he explained.

Having hung up his spikes, it’s now being reported that Bolt might finally be given the opportunity to represent his beloved Manchester United in the very near future.

Having jokingly suggested in the past that United should sign him, the BBC report that the club have held talks with Bolt about him appearing for the club in a legends game with Barcelona in a few weeks.

United legends faced Barcelona legends in Spain earlier this summer and are due to play the return at Old Trafford on September 2. Although Bolt will almost certainly be keen to take part in the game, the injury he picked up on Saturday night could have some bearing on whether he is able to or not.
