The good news? United’s injury list is down to one. The better news? It’s Ashley Young.
Okay, okay, perhaps a bit harsh on the man who has recreated himself under Louis van Gaal’s wing back system at Old Trafford but the Dutch manager was in jolly form this afternoon as he announced his injury list was down to the bare minimum after originally contending with 12 absentees at one stage this season.
Ahead of Southampton’s visit on Sunday though, only Young is on the treatment table and the United boss was in uncharacteristically light-hearted form as he announced the news.
What he doesn’t realise now though is that he is the man tasked with naming 11 players of that ridiculous squad he has assembled in Manchester.
We’ve tried to put out United’s team for the Southampton game and we had to cut it down to 20 players.
