United and/or Liverpool target Gundogan runs the entire pitch, passes it off, Dortmund miss

You run 100 metres with the ball, you have every right to shoot yourself.

Ilkay Gundogan’s moment of pure class was ruined when he passed the ball off at the edge of the box only for a team mate to make a right pig’s dinner of his brilliance.

The Dortmund midfielder’s stock will have raised considerably with one piece of stunning intervention when he took the ball from right full back the whole way to the opposition D.

His reading of the game to intercept the ball was superb. His skill to completely rinse the tackler was downright ridiculous and then his run the whole way to the other side of the pitch will have sent shockwaves through Manchester and Liverpool as the January window fast approaches.

He passed it off though and, despite creating a 4-v-2 scenario during their Europa League clash, the chance went begging. Dortmund still won in the end, beating FK Qabala 3-1 courtesy of an Aubameyeng hat-trick.
