UEFA were so shocked by Liverpool’s away goal that they awarded it to Borussia Dortmund

We know Borussia Dortmund were pre-match favourites but this is ridiculous.

Liverpool enjoyed an excellent first-half in Germany as they kept Europa League foes Dortmund at bay, and their tenacious striker Divock Origi thrilled the visiting fans by scoring a vital away goal in the 36th minute.

But it seems the surprise scoreline was all too much for UEFA’s production team, who seemed sure that it was the Bundesliga outfit who had taken the lead.

In fact as Origi ran back to his own half for the recommencement of the game, the match graphics showed he’d put Dortmund 1-0 up rather than Liverpool 0-1 in profit. Thankfully, sense prevailed a few seconds later…
