UEFA have Steven Gerrard in ahead of Ronaldinho and Zinedine bloody Zidane in their all-time XI

WTF?

Conan Doherty

Ah, lads.

We’ve no problem with Steven Gerrard here.

But when it comes to being rated higher than Zinedine Zidane, you can f*ck right off.

When it comes to anyone being rated higher than Zizou, that is.

UEFA are on the hunt for their 2015 Team of the Year starting from Tuesday and have decided to put together their all-time XI in the meantime.

The 11 is based on players who have been voted into the Team of the Year in the past but it doesn’t excuse them in this case.

Steven Gerrard – having made three successive teams in 2005, 2006 and 2007 – makes the midfield alongside Xavi and Iniesta. But his three inclusions in the Team of the Year sides is fooling no-one. Especially when Kaka, Ronaldinho and only Zinedine Zidane have also all made three of those teams.

All time TotY

Elsewhere, we’re not one bit happy at Buffon being left out of the starting side either.

It’s still a good team but nobody puts Baby Zinedine in the corner on the bench.
