What DID he say?

Out with it, Tyrone!

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth was one that will live long in the memory of everyone when saw it, for all the wrong reasons.

Undoubtedly, the major talking point after the game was the behaviour of Tyrone Mings and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The two somehow managed to stay on the pitch despite trading horrible fouls. It appears as though it started when Zlatan narrowly missed Mings with a stamp, which was swiftly followed by a stamp from Mings straight on the Swedish striker’s head while he laid prone on the turf.

Zlatan then retaliated by elbowing the Englishman in the face as they contested for a high ball. Just before he landed the cheap shot, he said something to Mings.

Knowing that everyone would be dying to find out exactly what he said to him, Mings made a cruel joke in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

“He said ‘Well played, you’re a good player’…. Nah!

He continued as if he would actually reveal what Ibrahimovic told him, but then cut himself off and gave a very vague account of what happened to dance around the subject.

“He said, obviously… listen, he is who he is, he’s a physical player, a good player. I knew what a battle it would be, coming here and playing against him. That’s what we had all day, it was a battle. There was maybe an elbow, after, when the ball came in. I didn’t see it. I felt it.”

“I had the feeling like that [that he was coming for me] all game. Like I said, he’s a physical day and it was a good battle all day.”

Right so.
