Poor Michael Owen is getting hell of it from the Twitterati
BT Sport have wheeled out Michael Owen to commentate on Manchester United’s Stephen’s Day clash with Newcastle.
The good people of Twitter have been mercilessly harsh on the former Ballon d’Or winner’s abilities as a pundit.
Here’s just a small selection of the deluge of insanely cruel comments people have been making on social media.
Michael Owen's insight is not insightful.

Not surprised that Newcastle have taken their full ticket allocation. It's go to the game or listen to Michael Owen… pic.twitter.com/qVVKHfrxI5

In Owen’s defence, he did explain yesterday why his commentary for today’s game might not be up to scratch.
Too late and too drunk to prepare for tomorrow's game. A late KO has come to my rescue. Foot… http://t.co/3l3Jl0CxKR

Cue a barrage of “well, he must be getting smashed the night before every match he commentates on” jokes.
