The United faithful breathed a collective sigh of relief
An 11th hour equaliser from Daley Blind spared Manchester United’s blushes against West Ham.
The Hammers took the lead through a magnificent effort from Cheikhou Kouyate. The Senegalese midfielder got on the end of a superb Mark Noble cross inside the box, took three touches to turn nearly 360 degrees before blasting the ball into the net on the volley.
The reaction on social media from Manchester United has been a mixture of relief and disappointment at their side’s dismal performance.
Looks like Daley Blind's rescued #mufc. 1-1. But they've been so poor, so disorganised. Rooney in midfield? It just doesn't work.

Gary Neville just said "That typifies Van Gaal's team!" as if we've just seen a gritty battling display instead of a scrappy incoherent mess

All a bit joyless watching Manchester United these days. When they were losing, chasing a game, used to be most exciting sight in football.

It actually hurts me inside to watch us play like this..

That was like the United of old, not playing well but kept going and "stole" something late on! Need to find a formation that suits team.

Can someone tell me what Daley Blind does?

Not many people can say this but I'm Bubbling with excitement for Monday to come!

Blind actually lost Song for the goal, too, which is appropriate

I would tweet but I'm too busy crying. #LateEqualizer

LVG in #motd2 interview says #mufc created more chances in 2nd half because of 'Fellaini's ability'.
— Mark Chapman (@markchapman) February 8, 2015
If they didn't have the shirts, and especially the names on the backs, this #manu team would be unrecognisable. However, still in top 4
— Glenn Moore (@GlennMoore7) February 8, 2015
there's a disconnect btwn LVG saying he's sad MUFC didn't play the ball on the floor & the fact they played 30 more long balls than west ham
— Ken Early (@kenearlys) February 8, 2015
i mean, be sad all you like, but is he saying the team is completely ignoring his instructions? doesn't make sense
